🌞 8-Week Summer Pottery Class: Wheel Throwing & Beyond Ready to dive deeper into the world of clay? This extended summer-only course is perfect for beginners or those looking to sharpen their wheel throwing skills over eight hands-on weeks. **Class Breakdown:** - Week 1:** Learn the basics of wheel throwing — centering, pulling, and forming cylinders. - Week 2:** Explore trimming techniques and refine your forms while throwing additional pieces. - Week 3:** Add character! Learn handles, attachments, and how to alter your pots. - Week 4:** Throw lidded jars and containers while building on your skills. - Week 5:** Challenge yourself with advanced forms like chip & dip platters and doughnut vases. - Week 6:** Focus on finishing — clean, trim, and prep your work for glaze. - Weeks 7 & 8:** Glazing time! Learn dip glazing, underglaze decoration, and other finishing techniques to make your pieces pop. **Class Info:** - All clay, glazes, and firing fees are included. - Studio tools and equipment are available, but feel free to bring your own **clearly labeled** tools. - Each student will keep 3–5 pieces per week. - Aprons are provided. Please wear clothes and shoes that can get messy. Tie back long hair and keep nails short for best results. **Make-Up Policy:** Missed classes can be made up during any regularly scheduled wheel throwing class *that is not full*, at the instructor’s discretion. **Attendance at the first class is required.** Please speak with your instructor to schedule any make-ups. **Important:** Finished pieces will be held for two months after the final class. Be sure to glaze and pick up your work within that window!
