Service Description
**This class is intended for experienced wheel throwers. Generally most new potters will stay under 5 pounds their first two years. Lets move that time table along! Join us as we go over tips and tricks to using more weight on the wheel and how to throw a pot in sections. We will focus on one large pot, but you are welcome to stay in your comfort zone and make 2-3 smaller (but bigger than your norm!) sectional pots. This class will be held over two weekends to allow enough time for the larger work to dry to the desired firmness for attaching in pieces. *Trimming of your pot will need to be completed within 2 weeks of completion. Trimming hours will be available on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 5:30-8:30pm, or select weekend hours, please see instructor for additional info. All clay/glaze/ and firing fees are included. Our studio dipping glazes will be available to participants, but you are welcome to use your own, please discuss with teacher if you bring your own glazes. Firing and drying times will vary depending on the pot. Just to be safe we will give your pot 2-4 weeks to fully dry, depending on size and environmental conditions. Explosions are more of a risk with larger pieces, but as always we do our best to get it safely through 2 firings. Sizes will be limited to fitting in our kilns! Glaze firing will run the same time frame.
