8-Week Pottery Course: Wheel Throwing & Beyond Go beyond the basics and build real, lasting skills at the wheel — from your first cylinder to finished, glazed pieces ready for your table. Ready to dive deeper into the world of clay? This extended fall course is perfect for beginners and those looking to sharpen their wheel throwing skills. Over eight immersive, hands-on weeks you'll learn every stage of the process and walk away with work you're truly proud of. COURSE BREAKDOWN Week 1 — Foundations: centering, pulling, and forming cylinders Week 2 — Trimming techniques and refining your forms Week 3 — Handles, attachments, and altering your pots Week 4 — Lidded jars and containers Week 5 — Advanced forms: chip & dip platters and doughnut vases Week 6 — Finishing: cleaning, trimming, and kiln prep Weeks 7 & 8 — Glazing: dip glazing, underglaze decoration, and more WHAT'S INCLUDED All clay, glazes, and firing fees are included. Studio tools and equipment are available to use, and each student takes home 3–5 pieces per week. WHAT TO WEAR Aprons are provided — just come in clothes and shoes you don't mind getting messy. Tie back long hair and keep nails trimmed for the best experience. MAKE-UP POLICY Missed classes can be made up during any open wheel throwing session, at the instructor's discretion. First class attendance is required. Contact your instructor to arrange make-ups. PICKING UP YOUR WORK Finished pieces are held for two months after the final class. Don't forget to glaze and collect your creations!
Cancellation Policy
Stuff happens we get it, but if you cant make a class you purchased, please let us know asap so we can reschedule and apply credit to another class. Please give 3 days notice or we have a hard time filling your seat. **UNDER 3 days notice NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN, only credit for a future class within 60 days at the studios discretion.
